Rotherfield Cricket Club
League & village cricket in East Sussex
Rotherfield Cricket Club is a long-established village club
whose roots have been traced back to the early nineteenth century.
Our ground is set in a quiet rural location with picturesque views
across the fields to Crowborough, two miles to the west. We have
a small, but comfortable and homely, pavilion and bar, and take
pride in providing a decent tea!

On Saturdays Rotherfield fields two teams in the 13 Division
Parker Building Supplies East Sussex Cricket League, one of the
largest in the country. Last season (2009) our First XI finished
second to gain promotion to Division 3 and our Second XI finished
fifth to remain in Division 8. On Sundays we run one friendly
eleven, where the emphasis is very much on getting everyone involved
within a sociable, relaxed environment. Most of the Sunday matches
are at home. During midweek mid-summer, Rotherfield participates
with neighbouring villages in the Greensand League, a 15 overs
evening competition that produces a lot of spectacular cricket
and exciting finishes. Last season the club also embarked on a
tour to Somerset.
New players of all ages and abilities are always welcome. Annual
subscriptions continue to be held at just £20 for adults
and £10 for juniors. Match fees are £5 and £3
respectively. If you are interested in joining us, please email
this website or call John Baldock on 01435 863884. Or feel
welcome to come up to the ground and take a look for yourself.
